Sovita passed away suddenly and peacefully today, Saturday April 22nd, at about noon. She succumbed to a pulmonary embolism caused by the tumour. It was quick and painless; she didn't suffer. She was very well taken care of by the ER and ICU teams at the historic Hôtel-Dieu hospital, a few blocks from home.
I was shattered by this news! Her great attitude was a blessing to me and many others. She'll be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to the entire family. May her beautiful soul rest in peace! :(

A mere three days after receiving a diagnosis that would crushed the most resilient of us, Sovita sprang back into action with her usual energy, wisdom, thought-provoking essays, generosity of spirit, and full of light. The latest news about the results of the biopsy gave us hope. But we knew it to be a nasty disease, whose medicine is bitter at best. Life is unfair, Sovita had so much more to give--and receive.
